New Year to Learn!

Happy New Year! I don’t make resolutions because I have found that I don’t follow them and end up feelings bad when I fail. I prefer to make decisions instead!

I decided that this year I am going to try to learn as much as I can. I plan to learn more about myself, my profession, and my family. This blog will focus on mostly learning about my profession, speech-language pathology. I love my job and cannot imagine any other career but I always feel like I can learn more. The ways that I plan on learning more about my profession are:

  • I will learn from other SLP bloggers and TPT creators. I have a great list of SLP bloggers under one of the top tabs. I keep track of my fellow SLP bloggers through Bloglovin’. If you follow SLP Blogs you will be able to easily scan hundreds of bloggers’ post quickly. Also follow them on Facebook, Instagram, and Periscope to quickly see what they are sharing. My plan is to share a favorite post from an SLP blogger or a great TPT product each week.
  • I will learn from my SLP colleagues. I work in a district with 40 therapist but we rarely get to interact and communicate with each other since we are spread out throughout the county. I recently asked a friend and colleague for some advice on a case and she was able to give me a new insight that I hadn’t thought of. They are a valuable local resource that I hope to use more frequently this year. I plan on getting input from my local SLPs and sharing their ideas each week.
  • I will learn from myself. I will reflect on my monthly lessons and determine what worked and what didn’t. My plan is to share what my weekly lesson plans are and how the activities/lessons went. I will share my resources and hopefully help my readers discover what to do and what not to do from my experiences.

Make sure you follow my blog so you can come along this learning path with me. You can follow me by subscribing by email in the tab on the side, on Facebook, on Instagram, on Bloglovin’, on Twitter, and on TPT.
